Sink Retrofit Instructions

Step1.

The hydraulic kit consisting of a Hand Pump, Cylinder and Connecting Hose.

Step 2.

As above but with the Pull Rod inserted into the Cylinder (threaded) Note the insertion position.

Step 3.

This shows the 90 mm Die dropped over the Pull Rod.

Step 4.

The Pull Rod (with the Die in position as shown above) is inserted through the existing outlet hole in the sink.

Note in a practical situation in a kitchen one person would be required to lift the Cylinder, Die and Pull Rod into position from the underside of the sink.

The Hand Pump would be sitting on the floor.

Step 5.

Shows the 90 mm punch being positioned onto the Pull Rod.

Given the pull rod is 20mm diameter and the hole in the sink is likely to be 40 mm (plus) it is possible to punch the new or enlarged sink outlet hole off-centre to the original hole if required.

Place the Punch over the original hole before the job begins and mark the desired position of the enlarged hole either concentric or eccentric to the original hole.

Step 6.

hows the Punch having been screwed down to the surface of the sink.

This would be the time to move the entire assembly to align the Punch with the desired finished position of the enlarged outlet hole.

Step 7.

Shows the manual pump indicating it's time to get pumping

Step 8.

Shows the Punch shearing through the sink.

Step 9.

We're through, the view from above the sink.

Step 10.

The sink slug being removed from the die. It's loose and no tools are necessary.

Step 11.

Following removal of the Punch and Die from the Pull Rod the Bottom of the Recess Tool is mounted onto the Cylinder (over the Pull Rod).

Step 12.

Again the Cylinder, Pull Rod with the Bottom of the Recess Tool are raised to the underside of the sink with the Pull Rod poking through the hole.

Step 13.

The Top of the Recess Tool is threaded onto the Pull Rod and screwed down to the surface of the sink. The leading edge of the Top of the Recess Tool self-centres on the recently created 90 mm hole.

Step 14.

The handle on the manual pump is activated again and the Top and Bottom of the Recess Tool are brought together.
It is suggested that "short" strokes on the handle are employed to conserve energy and ensure maximum load is exerted on the handle.

Step 15.

With the Top of the Recess Tool removed we see the Pull Rod poking through and a nice recess around the 90 mm hole.

Step 16.

Shows the upper rim of the Sink-Shield sitting pretty in the recessed sink outlet hole.
